NCFE INTERNATIONAL DIPLOMA IN HEALTHCARE AND NURSING (GREAT BRITAIN)
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The International Diploma in Nursing and Health care is accredited by the NCFE, a national awarding body. The course is designed for International students who have completed a three or four year Diploma in Nursing in their own country and who wish to undertake further study and build on their prior knowledge so that they could work in Health and Social Care Services in the UK. Having obtained the Diploma, candidates may look forward to enhanced prospects of career development in their home country or to the possibility of undertaking further qualifications within Nursing and Health Care in the UK.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Before beginning the International Diploma in Nursing and Health Care all candidates are required to have: • Successfully completed a 3 or 4 year Diploma in Nursing • An Intermediate English language level (IELTS 4.5) or above (B1 CEF) • Relevant health certificates • Police references. Prospective candidates are strongly advised to join a programme of English classes prior to starting the Diploma course. Candidates whose English is not sufficient will not be permitted to begin the course.
COURSE CONTENT
The course lasts a total of 35 weeks and comprises an initial 10 weeks in school, followed by a work placement of 22 weeks, and completed by a final 3 weeks in school during which time portfolios are completed and assessments finalised. Work placements are provided in the statutory or private health care services normally in care establishments for older persons or people with disabilities. The work placement is an integral part of the International Diploma in Nursing and Health Care. Students are required to keep a journal of events and tasks undertaken. This will be used as performance evidence to supplement the evidence provided in the candidate's portfolio of work. Work experience placements will be organised and monitored externally by the College.
TUITION
• 20 lessons per week in school for 10 weeks prior to placement • 20 lessons per week in school for 3 weeks after placement • Specialist English for Health Care and Nursing • Accommodation arranged by the College in Host Family.
WORK EXPERIENCE
• 22 week work placement within UK in the Nursing/Care Home Industry • National Minimum Wage • Hours specified by the Placement Provider (usually a full time position) • Accommodation arranged either by the placement provider or external accommodation through the College.
COURSE ACCREDITATION
• A College Language Certificate • An NCFE Diploma • The University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) Certificate in Work Experience • Work reference from placement provider (if requested).

DOCUMENTS FOR VISA PROCEDURE
• You will have to fill in a VAF 1 form • You will need a letter from the school confirming your course • Also you will need financial documents proving that you can support yourself in Great Britain (e.g. bank statement) • Passport • Other documents.
The whole amount of the program should be paid after having visa issued! The following are not included in tuition fee: travel, for example to/ from host family accommodation, accommodation fee, visa insurance, personal and health insurance and consular fee etc.
